GROUND ACCESS
The ground is situated on the southwestern edge of the village, behind the New Brighton Community Centre and next to the bowling club and green, on Moel Fammau Road. The community centre has a small car park but it can fill up quickly, so on-road parking along Moel Fammau Road may be required when visiting. Snacks and hot drinks can be bought from the snack bar at the community centre, whilst the nearest pub is the Beaufort Park Hotel which is about a ten-minute walk away.
New Brighton can be reached via the 4/4S (Chester to Mold) Arriva bus route, with the nearest bus stops to the ground being the Moel Fammau Road stops on Bryn Lane. The bus stop is then just a five-minute walk away from the community centre and ground. Although the nearest train station is Buckley, the most logical train station to reach New Brighton is Chester as you can pick up the 4/4S bus directly outside of the station.
BRIEF HISTORY
The club was the second version of New Brighton Villa, with the first version existing between 1987 to 1996, and competed in the Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) Premier Division before they folded. This version of the club was founded in 1997 as New Brighton FC, before changing back to New Brighton Villa in 2008.
The club spent the vast majority of its history in the lower leagues of the Welsh National League, playing in Division One since the 2005-06 season after gaining promotion as Division Two champions in 2005. Villa finished as high as fourth position on four occasions during their tenure in the league, before switching to the North East Wales Football League following the restructure of Welsh league football in 2020 and playing in the Premier Division. Sadly, following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, NBV announced they would be folding as a club as it was extremely difficult to enact any ground improvements required to progress further up the pyramid, whilst groundsharing was not a viable option either.
