Flintshire is a county situated in north-east Wales, bordering Cheshire to the east, Denbighshire to the south and Wrexham Borough County to the south.

The River Dee estuary flows out into the Irish Sea to the north of the county making it a maritime county, with the Clwydian Range occupying much of the western part of Flintshire. Moel Famau being the highest point in the area at 1820 feet or 554 metres above sea level.
